Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smart Implant
The Smart Implant is a device that allows professionals and DIY enthusiasts to expand their smart home ecosystem to include old appliances. By integrating this small device with a home alarm system or other household electronics such as electronic blinds, garage doors, windows, or furnaces. A single Smart Implant module can serve as two physical buttons in older devices. To achieve this, a user needs to disassemble a device and connect the Smart Implant directly to the respective buttons (or functions) they wish to control on the non-smart device. For example, to z-wave enable your garage door opener you would simply connect the Implant directly to your garage door unit terminals that is used to trigger the open/close.
The Fibaro Smart Implant is designed to be used standalone or installed in the housing of another device to add z-wave functionality by sensing the change of state in a dry contact terminal in products such as alarm systems and generic sensors.
A common use case for the Fibaro universal sensor is to Z-Wave enable an existing traditional wire-based alarm system by using it to sense when certain outputs or inputs are triggered and to arm/disarm the system. This is done by attaching the Fibaro Implant to the alarm panel terminals and can be powered by the DC supply voltage between 9 and 30V.
