Products & Delivery

We stock all items in our warehouse and our website shows real-time inventory level.  If it shows 'add to cart' it's in stock and usually can be dispatched on the same day if the order is made before 12pm!  Occassionally due to overwhelming demands some products may be sold out and will be marked as 'backorder'.

We know how excited you are in receiving our products so we strive to get the products to you as quick as possible.  To ensure your products arrive to your destination safely and minimize the risk of lost in transit all our delivery is done using Australia Post with signature on delivery (Standard and Express).  For standard post the item will reach major metro destination between 3-7 days. If you require quicker delivery please select the express post option which will generally arrive to you within 1-2 days depending on your location. Delivery charges are fixed ($12.95 for Australia standard delivery) no matter how many products you order however we reserve the right to quote a custom delivery charge for large bulk items (eg. LED Flood lights) or custom orders in which case you will be notified.  

All items are checked from our warehouse before delivery however SmartLiving recommend you to inspect the contents of your items and advise us immediately if any products are damaged or not what you expected (see DOA & Replacements)


While advancements in home automation and smart gadgets make it easier and accessible to everyone please make sure you have done your research on product compatiblity by either going through our forum, contacting us or your own testing before purchasing any items.  We will try and assist as much as possible but ultimately we cannot be responsible for product incompatibility given the vast amount of devices/products out there and your unique setups.  If you do encounter compatibility issues and wish to return the product,  you will be responsiblity to send the items back to us at your cost.  We have the right to charge for the return postage cost for the replacement item and a 20% restocking fee.

DOA & Replacements

Through our comprehensive evaluation of products we only select reliable and proven items which means we 100% stand by what we sell.  In the unlikely event you receive an item that is dead on arrival (DOA)*, damaged or quality issues which wasn't caused by misuse we will replace the item or provide a refund at our discretion provided we are notified immediately on receipt of the goods and the item is returned within 5 days.  We may request photos of the box and the items to be sent to us for assessment first.  After 5 days have lapsed no claims for DOA/Replacements will be possible.  Cost to return the items back to us are your responsibility and will not be reimbursed under any circumstances.

 *  Smart Living will assess the product and if found not to be faulty you are responsible for the cost to return the product back to you. 

 Standard warranty

We offer 12 month's warranty from your sales order date on all our products unless otherwise specified and all warranty claims and returns must be accompanied by a valid invoice/receipt. You must notify us within the warranty period for any faults and products like in-wall mains voltage connected products must be installed by certified electricians otherwise warranty will be void.  We have the right to request a written letter from your electrician stating the product was installed accordingly to the manufacturer's instructions. Your safety is our concern!  For warranty claims the item must be sent back with all accessories and manual unless we have advised otherwise.  

The warranty is void if the item through our diagnostic has been found to be taken apart, misused, used in a way that it was not designed for or installed by non-qualified electrican.  The postage to send the item back to us is the responsiblity of the buyer however we understand the inconvenience it may cause so we will cover the postage back to you with the repaired or replaced item for the first replacement.  Subsequent warranty claims on any other products including the first replacement item the buyer is responsible for all postage cost. 

The warranty is strictly for product replacements only so Smart Living is not responsible for any costs incurred by you to return the products back to us including but not limited to postage, time, effort as well costs for electricians or professional trades person to remove and reinstall the product(s).  General accessories like cables, plugs, power supplies are considered as consumables so not covered by warranty unless it's dead on arrival.

For all claims email us support@smartliving.com.au and we'll provide you with a returns authorisation (RA) form with instructions on the process.  No items will be accepted without a valid RA number.


For fastest and easiest method please order the products online by adding it into the cart and proceeding to checkout.  Once you have paid using one of the available payment options (Direct deposit, credit card, PayPal) a payment confirmation will be sent to your registered email address.  It's quick and convenient! We can also take your order over the phone if you prefer.

If a product becomes out of stock after you place an order you will be advised and have an option to cancel or wait for the back order.

Payment, Pricing & Price matching

Smart Living accepts direct bank deposit or credit card payment using PayPal as our payment gateway (you don't need to have an paypal account to checkout).  Paypal is the trusted leader in online payments and protects your credit card information with industry-leading security and fraud prevention systems. Using PayPal is free and there are no additional charges to you.

Smart Living ensures we are offering the best value products in Australia which means we are constantly reviewing our prices. We take great care in ensuring our website is up to date and accurate but due to many unforseen variables we reserve the right to cancel a sale because of pricing or system errors.

If you happen to find a cheaper advertised price on an identical item that's in stock with our competitor we'll match it*.  You have 100% confidence you are getting the best price from us with the level of service you expect!

Excludes the following:

Change of mind / Refund

Under Australian law there is no refund if you simply change your mind however if you let us know your circumstances and subject to our agreement we may allow for the return. Refund or exchange can only be granted if the product is unmarked, unused, original condition with have full packaging and you have notified us within within 7 days of the purchase date and that the goods are returned within 14 days of the purchase date. Smart Living reserves the right to refuse the return at all if the items are returned incomplete or damaged in any way (special or custom orders cannot be returned).

If we agree to refund you we will provide a store credit* equivalent to the purchase price of the item only.  Original postage fees and the cost for returning the product back to us are not refundable.

* Store credit must be used within 12 months otherwise it will expire.

Updating Account Information

You can update your account information eg delivery address by login to your account and making the changes directly.  Please ensure your contact details are correct during the checkout process.  Due to our system security we cannot view your password so if you forget your password please use the reset password option.
